Leaders care about employee wellbeing. It's now time to put it into action!

At Benny Button, we now have some of the most exciting, informative and advanced work/life wellbeing and performance data insights in the world.

The Benny Button Profiler has reached thousands of people (including almost 1,000 leaders) across diverse workplace environments, including corporates, government agencies, mining/industrial, fast growing SME’s and NFP’s.

Our data indicates leaders genuinely care about their employee’s wellbeing. The people have spoken and 77% agree or strongly agree that this sentiment is real.

What’s concerning is work continues to negatively impact people’s wellbeing. Over 30% of people believe work commitments make it too difficult to put enough time and energy into taking care of their wellbeing. A further 28% of people are neutral on this.

There is enormous room for growth in over half of the workforce population. It’s time to act and capitalise on the fact that leaders care and make it easier for employees to take care of their wellbeing.

Investment in employee wellbeing is a win for people and a win for better business outcomes and here is the magic piece of data we really love. It makes the investment in workplace wellbeing a ‘no brainer.’

When employees have high levels of wellbeing, over 70% are also high performers. When wellbeing levels are low, high performance drops to less than 6%.

This highlights the incredibly strong relationship between wellbeing and performance. They go hand in hand.

Looping back, the work environment, workload and work commitments are making it too difficult for almost 60% of employees to put enough time and energy into taking care of their wellbeing. We need to work together to solve this.

Very soon we will be launching an exciting digital tool called Checkpoint. This tool will make it easer for people to invest in their wellbeing and most importantly, not put wellbeing to one side when work demands increase. Checkpoint will also support people when wellbeing is compromised by dynamically serving up and triaging employee’s to relevant support services when they need them most.

We know leaders care, we simply need to provide them with the tools and insights to effectively and efficiently support their employees in the flow of work. When employee’s check-in with Checkpoint, leaders get a real time ‘read of the room.’ This will make it easier for leaders to identify trends, wellbeing and performance fluctuations and support their teams with relevant dialogue and resources.
